Waterloo University is giving out the International Masters Awards of Excellence and this scholarship is for international students to embark on their master’s degree research. However, the faculties are the ones to nominate students who are eligible based on academic performance through their application for admission.

Eligibility

Eligibility requirements for the Waterloo International Masters Award include international students must have a valid Canadian study permit.  

International students must be registered full-time and assess international tuition fees, as the scholarship will only be awarded to master’s degree students in research-focused programs thesis/research paper.

To be eligible, students must be full-time, assessed international tuition fees, and typically enter the first term of their program. The selection is based on academic excellence as demonstrated through the application for admission. Faculties nominate eligible students based on their award allocation.

Understand that only students accessing the first term of their program are eligible and applicants must show good academic excellence through a category established by the faculty. Also, applicants must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and should not have any outstanding probationary admission requirements.

Application instructions:

From here international students will certainly be considered for this award based on their application for admission and no separate scholarship application is required. However, your faculty/departments must select their eligible students and nominate them for the Waterloo scholarship.

The Waterloo International Award application deadline for some master’s programs started in September 2022. However, students need to check the official website at Uwaterloo for more information on application deadlines for master’s degree programs.
